Training by QR Code
Field tier and aboveIn the app: /training/courses
QR Courses deliver short training to the crew on their own phones: a worker scans the site code, reads the course or watches its video, and signs it off with no login. When a course counts toward a training type, we write that training record with its expiry the moment the worker finishes, so compliance, readiness and the expiry reminders pick it up by themselves.
1.Add a course
- Open Training, then QR Courses, and press + New Course. You need to be an admin.
- Give it a title and choose English or Spanish. Start from a saved toolbox talk if you have one, or write the course text.
- Add a video link (it must start with https://) or a PDF or image if the course has one. A course needs at least one of text, video or file.
- Under Counts Toward, choose the training type it satisfies, if any, and press Add Course.
2.Add a quiz
- In the course, press + Add Question. Write the question, give it two to six answers, and tick the right one.
- Set the pass mark, from 50 to 100 percent. It starts at 80.
- Workers must pass the quiz to complete the course, and only a pass writes the training record. The right answers never reach their phone: we grade every attempt on our side.
- A worker who does not pass sees their score and which questions to try again, not the answers, and can go back over the course and try again.
3.Put it in front of the crew
- Pick the site and press Print Training QR. The code opens every active course for that site. Course QR on a single course opens that course directly.
- A worker scans it, opens the course, reads or watches it, types their name as it appears on your Workers list, signs if they want to, and presses the button to say they have completed it.
- A second sign-off of the same course by the same worker within 24 hours counts once.
4.See who has completed it
- Press Who Completed It on a course for each worker, the date, the site, the quiz score, whether they signed and the training record written. With a quiz, it also shows the attempts and the share who missed each question.
- An admin can press Export Completions CSV for every completion.
- Archive a course to take it off the QR page. A course nobody has completed can be deleted; one with completions is kept as the record.
Common questions
- Does finishing a course prove the worker understood it?
- Without a quiz, it records that they opened it and signed it off, with the time and the site. Add a quiz for a check on understanding: the completion then carries the score, and Who Completed It shows how many attempts there were and how often each question is missed, so you can see what is not landing.
- What if the worker's name does not match?
- The page tells them to check the spelling or ask their supervisor, and nothing is recorded. Names are matched to active workers on your roster, ignoring capitalization, and the roster is never shown on the phone.
- Can a worker watch the video with no signal?
- No. The course list, the video and the sign-off need a connection. The course text stays on the page once it has loaded.
