Custom Reports

In the app: /analytics/reports

Custom Reports, on the Statistics page, turns your incidents, observations, corrective actions, site audits, equipment inspections or training records into a chart and a table grouped the way you choose. We keep a saved report's settings rather than its numbers, so a rolling range such as the last 12 months is current every time you open it.

1.Build a report

  1. Open Statistics and press Custom Reports.
  2. Under Report On, pick the records: Incidents, Safety Observations, Corrective Actions, Site Audits, Equipment Inspections or Training Records. Only the modules your company has turned on are listed.
  3. Under Group By, pick a period (month, quarter or year) or a field such as job site, type, status or owner. Split By adds a second field as stacked bars or separate lines, or pick No split.
  4. Under Count, keep Number of Records, or pick a total the records carry: days away or days restricted for incidents, failed items for audits.
  5. Pick the Date Range and Show As Bar, Line or Table. The report updates as you change it, with the table under the chart.

2.Filter a report

  1. Use + Add Filter and pick a field, such as Status or Job Site.
  2. Tick the values to keep. The choices are the values found in the date range, so a site with no records in it is not offered.
  3. A filter with nothing ticked is not applied. Press Remove Filter to take it away. Up to five fields can be filtered at once.

3.Save and share a report

  1. Type a name under Save This Report.
  2. Leave Everyone who can open Statistics can see it ticked to share it, or untick it to keep it to yourself.
  3. Press Save Report. It appears under Saved Reports on the left; press it to open it again.
  4. The person who saved a report, or an admin, can change it with Save Changes or remove it with Delete. Anyone else can open it, change the settings and press Save as New to keep their own copy.

4.Print or export a report

  1. Press Print for the chart and table on paper, or save them as a PDF from the print dialog.
  2. An admin can press Export CSV for the table: one row per group, one column per split value and a total, with the report's description in the first row.

Common questions

Why do the columns add up to more than the number of records?
An incident can have several contributing factors. Grouped or split by Contributing Factor, it counts once under each of them, so the columns can add up to more than the incidents in the range. We say so under the table when that applies.
Can a report show who was injured?
No. Reports group by categories such as type, site, status, body part and owner, never by the person an incident happened to. Open the incident itself for that.
What does Everything Else mean?
A chart stays readable with up to 30 groups and eight split values. We fold the smallest of the rest into one Everything Else row or column, so the totals still add up.
What happens to a report if we turn a module off?
It stays saved but cannot be opened until the module is back on, and the list says so. The records themselves are not affected by saving or deleting a report.
