Industrial Hygiene records exposure sampling results, whether asbestos, silica, noise, lead, welding fume or anything else you monitor, against the exposure limit, with the lab report attached. Exposure records are kept for 30 years, so nothing here is deleted, only archived.
1.Record a sample result
- Open Industrial Hygiene and press + Record Sample.
- Enter the hazard or agent, the sample type (personal or area) and, for a personal sample, the person sampled.
- Enter the job site, the location or task, the sample date and the duration in minutes.
- Enter the method (for example NIOSH 7400), the result, its unit and the exposure limit. We calculate the percentage of the limit and flag a result at or over it.
- Add the lab, who surveyed, any notes and the lab report or survey document (PDF or image up to 4 MB), then save.
2.Act on a result over the limit
- Open the sample and press + Corrective Action.
- Give it an owner and a due date. It is tracked in Corrective Actions with the sample as its source.
3.Correct a result
- Open the sample and press Edit, then Correct a Sample Result.
- Change the result or the limit and save. We write the change, and who made it, to the Activity Log.
4.Find, archive and export
- Search by hazard, person, site, method or lab, or press a hazard chip to filter to one agent.
- Archive a sample to drop it from the working list. It stays on file and can be restored.
- An admin can press Export CSV for the full list.
Common questions
- Can I delete a sample entered by mistake?
- No. Archive it and note the reason. Exposure records are kept for 30 years, so the record stays.
- Does the app tell me the exposure limit?
- No. You enter the limit that applies to the agent and the method, and the app compares the result with it.
