Comments and Mentions
Incidents, corrective actions, site audits and management-of-change requests each have a Comments thread at the bottom, so the conversation about a record stays on the record instead of in email. Type @ and a name to mention someone with a login: we put it in their notifications and email them a link back to the record.
1.Comment on a record
- Open the incident, the corrective action in the list, the site audit or the change request.
- Write in the Comments box at the bottom and press Post Comment.
- Your name and the time go with it. You can edit your own comment, and it shows as edited.
2.Mention someone
- Type @ and the start of their name. Pick them from the list with the mouse, or with the arrow keys and Enter.
- Post the comment. We tell you how many people were notified.
- They see it at the top of their notification bell and get an email with the comment and a link. Opening the record marks it read.
- Anyone with a login can be mentioned. Workers without a login cannot; mention their supervisor instead.
3.Remove a comment
- Press Remove on the comment. Its author or an admin can do this.
- The comment keeps its place in the thread as removed, so the replies around it still make sense, and any mentions from it leave the bell.
- Deleting the record itself removes its whole thread.
Common questions
- Who can read the comments?
- Anyone with a login who can open that kind of record. A comment on an incident is visible to everyone who can see incidents, so keep medical details and diagnoses out of it.
- Does a mention email go out if email is not set up?
- No. The mention still appears in the person's notification bell. Email needs your company's email sending to be set up, which we do at onboarding.
